Our History
The group has existed for more than 30 years and was previously known as the Glen Playgroup. In early 1999 it became fully incorporated as a Company Limited by Guarantee and in April 1999 began operating as Bees Nees Early Years Centre.

We have a purpose built building at the entrance to the Glen Estate in Newtownards which provides children with a secure, stimulating environment.

Our large playroom contains a wide range of essential play materials including our home corner, interest table, water and sand play, block play, arts area, and our calm space.
Our Building
Play equipment is regularly changed in line with the curriculum and the children’s interests. We have infant sized toilets for the children in our washroom and a kitchen area for preparing our healthy snacks.
Our large outside play area has wealth of activities for the children to enjoy and learn from. There is a wide variety of resources including mud kitchens, a covered sandpit, an interactive wall, a climbing frame and slide among others.
We have lots of materials such as construction and art items to help spark the children's imaginations. There are also a range of natural resources in our digging area, bug hotel and swamp area.
The outside space is a real asset and a great learning space. The children love getting outside and make the most of all the area has to offer.
